How the New Subscription Pricing Works
Why is Gumshoe moving from consumption-based pricing to a subscription?
The new pricing model provides predictable, consistent monthly fees that can be incorporated by Agencies into their monthly retainer fee structure. It also provides agencies with a bundled set of features that can be mapped to the different needs of their brand clients.
What subscription tiers will be available?
The basic tier is $99/month and includes a full monthly Visibility Audit, a weekly snapshot audit, a Citation Audit, and a set of technical page audits (10/month). The standard tier at $299/month is comprehensive, including a Content Audit, multiple Technical Audits (50/month), and additional features such as Sentiment Audit and Deep Citation Audit. A daily snapshot audit will also be included.
Are the subscription prices per audit or per brand?
It depends. For example, if you have a brand that requires one AI Visibility Audit per month, the subscription price would be per brand. If you have a brand that requires audits across 3 different product or service focus areas, the subscription price would be per audit and in this case would be $297 per month ($99 x 3). You can choose which plan each client is on, so different accounts can sit on different plans.
What's included in the basic subscription?
A full customized monthly audit (up to 480 conversations), a weekly snapshot, a Citation Audit, and 10 technical page audits. You will also have access to the content heat map, the competitive leaderboard and AI brand perception.
What are the daily and weekly snapshots?
This audit is a lighter, automatic weekly run that gives you a pulse on how a brand is doing between the running of the full monthly audit. It uses a reduced set of personas, prompts, and models (4 personas, 5 prompts, 4 models), but shows the same outputs: visibility, sources/citations, competitive leaderboard, etc. This is a net new benefit for agencies and brands.
Can we choose the configuration of these snapshots?
Yes. You will be able to pick which personas and prompts matter most to the brand for the snapshot (for example, choosing your four most important personas). Models are locked to a preset configuration at launch.
Will there be a cap on conversations, personas, or prompts per client?
Yes. There will be a cap of 480 total conversations per monthly Visibility Audit in the basic and standard plans. If you require configurations for audits beyond 480 conversations, overage pricing at $0.20 per conversation is planned as a fast-follow but will not be available at launch.
Can I customize the configuration if I stay within the conversation cap?
Yes. You'll be able to allocate within your cap (for example, fewer personas with more prompts each).
Cost Impact and Examples
Will my monthly cost be increasing?
It depends on what you run today. Reports already priced around $80–90/month won't change much, since the $99 tier is close to that range, and you will also be getting the added weekly snapshots. Smaller Visibility Audit reports will increase in price: for example, a $28/month report (70 prompts, four models, ~280 conversations) would move to $99/month, but you will also gain the weekly snapshot audit.
Does the entry price stop at $99, or could a large report cost more than that under the subscription?
Both a small (~$28) report and a larger (~$90) report would move to the same $99 Basic tier price if the Basic tier covers what you need. Larger or more demanding needs (more conversations, sentiment analysis, more Content Audits) would fit the $299 tier or custom pricing. You will also be able to build your own Visibility Audit at a per conversation cost of $0.20.
Why is the per-conversation rate increasing from $0.10 to $0.20?
The increase reflects rising costs from the AI model providers. Gumshoe pays for API access and tokens to make calls to the models, and those costs are rising. The per-conversation increase is reflecting this increased cost to serve the insights.
Will any discounted pricing be available for Agencies?
Yes. Gumshoe offers discounted pricing among other benefits for Agencies that join our Agency Partnership Program. You can find more information on the program along with online sign up form here.
Existing Reports and Grandfathering
What happens to reports I already have running on a schedule?
Any report already in a recurring/scheduled state (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) before subscriptions launch will be grandfathered in at your current pricing for the remainder of 2026. In 2027, you would then choose which subscription plan those reports move into.
Can I lock in current pricing for one-off reports by moving them to recurring now?
Yes. If you move a one-off report to a recurring/scheduled state before subscriptions roll out in July 2026, it will be grandfathered in at your current rate for the rest of 2026, just like your other recurring reports.
Can I still edit or adjust my grandfathered reports over the next few months?
Yes. As long as you keep them running (don't unschedule or remove them), you can continue to edit and adjust them. Anything scheduled when subscriptions officially launch will be grandfathered in.
Can we keep scheduling and setting up new reports in the meantime?
Yes, it is status quo for now. You won't see any subscription options yet, so continue setting up reports as you do today. You'll get notice before anything changes in the system.
When does the switch happen?
Estimated to launch in July 2026. Grandfathered pricing runs through the end of 2026, with subscription plan selection happening as you move into 2027. Gumshoe will continue to send proactive communications leading up to the launch date.
Pay-Per-Conversation and Ad Hoc Reports
Will the pay-per-conversation model still be an option?
Yes. In addition to the Basic and Standard subscription tiers, there is a Build Your Own option at $0.20 per conversation with no monthly minimum. This is designed for brands that need occasional or lighter-weight Visibility Audits without committing to a subscription.
Will there be a minimum charge for ad hoc Visibility Audits?
No. There is no minimum charge at launch. The Build Your Own option is priced at $0.20 per conversation, so you only pay for what you use.
Features and Capabilities Under the New Model
Will the plan level affect the core data I can access (brand perception, trends, sources, buyer criteria)?
Yes. Basic Plan will have access to the main dashboard that you see today, including competitive leaderboard, visibility by persona and topic, competitive heatmap, and the sources table. The Basic Plan includes the Citation Audit (sources table) but does not include the deeper audit capabilities (Content Audit, sentiment analysis, Deep Citation Audit). Those advanced audits will only be available in the Standard Plan.
What is the Content Audit, and how is it priced under subscription?
The Content Audit is a new, more prescriptive feature to help brands determine where they need to develop net new content and recommendations for improving the relevancy or depth of existing content. Rather than just flagging a gap, it tells you which content to adjust and how. It is included in the Standard Plan but not included in the basic plan or with custom "build your own" audit.
How is sentiment analysis different from the brand perception module?
Today's brand perception module mainly tells you what a brand is highlighted for across the models. The new sentiment analysis shows both positive and negative sentiment; where the brand shows up favorably and unfavorably across topics and personas and provides an NPS-style score for your brand versus competitors. This includes a new set of prompts targeted at drawing brand sentiment out of the answers.
Will the way personas are generated change, or affect recommended prompts and topics?
No. How Gumshoe calls the models and generates personas, prompts, and topics won't change. You'll keep the ability to edit personas, brand summaries, and prompts as you can today.
Can I assign different clients to different plans?
Yes. Every account/brand can be on a different plan.
Can I bulk-upload custom personas and prompts instead of one at a time?
The self-service capability is being developed. Currently, Gumshoe supports bulk upload via CSV that is loaded on the back end and done through a customer request process.
Will JSON/CSV data export and API access change?
No. Export capabilities (CSV/JSON) and API access aren't going away. The API is being actively improved.
